ROTTERDAM SUMMER CARNIVAL 2016

IN COLLABORATION WITH BART STUART AND KLAAR VAN DER LIPPE COMMISSIONED BY TENT.ROTTERDAM, KUNSTHAL AND IBB and the students of the all you can art summrschool.

During a period of 6 weeks the students and I developed several costumes through a workshop format where we imagined new plant creatures that could have developed without the interference of Dutch colonisers on Curacao. It was simultaneously an ode to traditional carnival costumes of flesh eating plants and other critters at the carnival.
For this project we worked at the Kunsthal Rotterdam and particpated in the Rotterdam Summer Carnival parade.
